I A pleasing little function took place in Murray's Hall, Masterton, last evening, when, a large number of members of the Masterton Bowling Club met together to say farewell to MiFrank Dupre, wilio lias, in turn, occupied tho positions of President..'VicePresident and Secretary of the' Club, and has for many years been an ardent bowler. Tho chair was occupied by Mr S.jlnder (President of the Ohio).' Mr jnder, in an appropriate speech, expressed tho regret which was felt in bowling circles at the departure />f Mr Dupre, and asked him to accept a token of goodwill :and appreciation in. tho form of a case of pipes. Eulogistic speeches were made by His Worship the Mayor,- Mr G. R. Svkes, M.P and Messrs Eton, C. Po-rry* P. L. H)!'. lings, and J. Prentice, and the health of'tho departing gentleman was drunk in bumpers. Songs and xeciiatien* were given, and various toasts honoured. Mr Dupre, in a feeling speech acknowledged the kindly words which had been spoken in regard to himself, and said Jio would always Jook luitlc with feelings of pleasure to the happy bonrs he had spent upon the Masterton. bowling green.
