DOCTORS IN SCHOOLS.

The Carterton District High School Committee has decided to invite the medical men of tbe district to examine the pupils at the local school periodically, a.nd to deliver addresses to the older scholars on the question of sexual physiology. While this is undoubtedly a step in the right direction, it emphasises the necessity for the adoption of some general Gchemo by the State. This .matter has been under discussion for some years, and its iiiiportance has beeu recognised by educationists throughout the Dominion. The Government, however, has not yet devised means for putting .the proposal into execution.
