Motor Cycle dub's sports held on the Hastings _ Racecourse on Boxing Day, the lYiumpifos again practically wept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes the Triumph# secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the moire remarkable when it i& considered tihat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equaJ power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt oni the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier record—viz., Bhra 35min., established by Mr H\ L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on ft Triumph. In, spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Brathwiaato left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at thse Napier Post Office, at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6hTB. 38min.., Towerimg the. previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only t-wo etopß being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33£ miles an. hour over 230 milesi of New Zealand roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish ooulct not hek> but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the ftaish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for (hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
