MBS GLEXNEX'S VISIT',
Tile-visit- of Mrs Glennen, of' Melbourne, to the Wairarapa district, is creating considerable interest in domestic circles. This 'lady comes to us armed with splendid* credentials and a manner'of imparting knowledge on the subject of domestic economy which is at once appealing to the feminine sex, and interesting to mere man. On Monday afternoon she met a large assemblage of ladies in Murray's Hail in Masterton, and, .after telling them i< much that they did nob know ing the ailment® and peculiarities i of •infant children, she proceeded to demonstrate how to construct foods and dishes which would serve to ensure quiet at the domestic fireside and peace in. the household. The address 'was ably delivered, and much appreciated .by the audience. In the evening there was another large gathering, when Mrs Glennen treated the subject of diabetes in a skilful manner, and showed how to make gluten Ibread, pastry from gluten flour, Yorkshire pudding, vegetable custard, and other glutinous dishes adapted for those who may be suffering from diabetes. Mrs J Glennen used a "Perfection" oil stove in her demonstrations, which lvad been kindy lent for the occasion by Messrs ■Beak? and Co. She also employed the paper hag system, which was favour- i ably commented upon. This afternoon | •Mrs Glennen will deal with the treatment of infectious diseases, and will" give a demonstration of suitable diets. This evening she will start classes for instruction in the various brandies of'' domestic economy.
