STEAMER FOUNDERS

THE PASSENGERS RESCUED

LONDON, March 17

The. German barque Pisaguo collided with the steamer Oceana in the darkmess at Beacheyhead. There were over 200 passengers on the Oceana.

One of the boats was swamped, but it is believed the occupants were saved. A channel steamer secured the passengers of the Oceana, which was on a tour to Dover, and which foundered. The steamer had £1,000,000 worth of specie aboard. The damage to the Pisagua. was slight.
