In the -Houso of Commons, a Bill was read a second time, allowing Pa'r-~ liament to grant to local authorities i £500,000 annually towards the houo- j ing operations. The Bill empowers j the Local Government Board to deal I with slums at the cost of a local au- I thority, when the latter is negligent.
