i SWEPT BY A HURRICANE. : (Received March 16, 8.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 16. ' The German ship D. H. Watjen recently visited Pitcairn Island. <?'-/> m . ports that the Island was swept by a hurricane in September last, and the islanders have since been short of supplies. There as a good deal of distress. JThe D. H. Watjen left all her spare stores to assist the islanders until a relief ship arrived. Several of the islanders desired to migrate to Sydney,
