WAIRARAPA TRAIN SERVICE.

[To The Edit&r.l Sir, — Re your able article in referonce to the train service, I think that the thanks of the people are due to you for bringing the matter so closely home to them, and now is the opportunity for the whole of the residents, not only of Masterton ibut <the Avhole of the Wairarapa and further north. . If a train arrives late in Wellington', say 'five or ten minutes, it is mention-. Ed in the newspapers at once; but .what about the trains here? Only today (Saturday) the train was half an hour late (just because a number of Territorials were being carried on the railways). I presume that will be the excuse. Fancy trains running late just because a few extra people are carried. Is no provision made for such traffic, so that the trains can keep .up to time-table? T. suppose the train arrangements at Show time, are forgotten "by tliis. There is no ; , earthly reason .why ,the train from' - Wellington should not arrive here, at say 11 a.m. The. carriages, too, are so comfortable on this line that there is no wonder at people not crying out about tliem! We hear a lot* about our Postal Department toeing cine of the best in the world. Can we say that of the Wairarapa railway? I venture to say it would get the vote for being one of the worst for quick service, comfort, and running to time. Hoping abler pen will keep tlie matter going. 1 am, etc., . SHAKE THiEM UP A BIT.
