WHO IS TO BE PREMIER?
That is the question which is exciting interest- at the present time. The Liberal remnant, which is in power at the will of the Labour "four," meet in Wellington next week to select a Prime Minister. Several -prominent Liberals have been coquetting with the party during the last few weeks, and the amount of self-abneg-ation which has been displayed has been simply astounding. The general opinion is that the final selection will be between .the Hon. j. A. Millar and the Hon. T. Mackenzie, though some give Messrs Laurenson and Hanan a chance. Whoever is appointed to succeed Sir Joseph Ward will have a nice row to hoe. The fun will commence when the formation of the Ministry commences. Until then, the public must be patient.
