{By "Also Started.") FIXTURES. March 20 and 21.—Nelson J.C. Annual. March 28 and 29.—Masterton R.C. Autumn. April 6 and B.—Wairarapa R.C. Autumn. April 6 and B.—Auckland R.C. Autumn. April B.—Waipukurau J.C. Annual. April 8 and ,9.—Canterbury J.C. Autumn. Nominations for the Wairarapa Racing Club'-, autumn meeting are due on Monday, 18th inst. There will be racing at Nelson on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Sinapis, who ha,s been racing consistently of late, has been paid up for in the open six furlong race at Nelson. The handicaps for the Masterton Racing Club's autumn meeting appeared yesterday, and on the whole are on a flattering scale. 'Full Rate is undoubtedly a badly treated horse, lie has not won a race since he won at Palmerston North over twelve months ago, and has since raced all over the country without any success. He is set to carry. 9st olbs in the March Handicap at Masterton. Thecompany.' he .'meets at. Masterton is certainly not of v a,very ;high, class, but there are several -horses-.- in the race'who have performed well this sea-
son. ; : . Ineuru, Bst" 31b, is giving 21bs to Sinapis, and has -her fair share of weight. The handicapper has evidently not 'forgotten her last performance. Sir Solo, 9.5, will probably start in the Cup, in which lie has a handy weight, and being on his own course must give a good account of himself, provided he has a good horseman to' steer him. ■ Sir Knox, Dst, has been given pride i of place in the Waipipi Cup, and his! form has .been so good in his recent; essays over a mile and quarter, that i he must be given a great chance, but I there are a number of horses below j him who also have good credentials,] and at -present the race looks very I open. [Lady Laddo, who won two races at] Opaki afc the summer meeting, has' been allotted 8.8 in the Opaki Welter, j and is sure to have a host of follow-' ers. The Kilcheran-Platypus colt in "R. ■ Knox's stable has quite recovered] from his cold, and is striding out freely in his work. He will be a competitor in the Maiden. Piermont, who won a double at the Whakataki meeting last week, has been allotted the minimum impost in the Ladies' Bracelet at Opaki. ■ Ariom was lucky to..win the Napier Cup, and those who witnessed the race state that .Nyland looked a certain winner when he broke down. A number of Masterton sportsmen who visited the 'Napier Park races, state that the finish in the Close Me- | morial was worth going a long way to witness, and it was impossible to tell which horse won till the numbers went up. San Plnie, who won the High Weight Hack Handicap at Napier, has been running consistently of late, and had quite a number, of seconds to her name. She is in the Waipipi Cup with 6st 131.1), and may be expected to run well. Mr K. S. White, a well known Hawke's Bay sportsman, passed | through to Greytown yesterday, with a view to purchasing one or two of the horses 'bred by the late Mr John Cotter, of Greytown. 'According, to good judges, it was Deelcy's horsemanship that landed / Ariom a winner in the (Napier Cup. Tigerene, who raced successfully last season, is again in work, and will race at the Wairarapa Racing Club's autumn meeting. The Napier Park meetings have always been looked upon as a happy hunting ground for the Karanmi horses. At the meeting hold this week, the Cerise colours were successful on four occasions.
