HOTEL DESTROYED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) LEVIN, Last Night. The Weraroa hotel, at Levin, owned by Messrs Staples'and Co., was completely destroyed 'by fire last night. The building burnt rapidly., and the occupants escaped in their night attire only. iThe fall of a chimney on the roof of the storeroom crushed it and. occasioned'superficial injuries to two occupants., necessitating surgical" attend tion. The origin of the outbreak is unknown. The hotel was insured for £I7OO, and also the stock and furniture for £BOO in the Atlas office. The personal effects of Mrs W. H. Higgins, the licensee, were insured for £4OO in the Ocean office.
