ANOTHER GRIEVANCE.
The Wairarapa has a substantial grievance against tho Railway Department in the .matter of the time occupied in negotiating the journey between Masterton and the city. The Wairarapa trains are required to stop at all stations—oxcepting the most important of all, Petoftfc— on the journey to and from Wellington. Nearly an hour is wasted on stoppages in the'Hutt Valley, which could be avoided if a proper suburban service were instituted. There is absolutely no reason why the Wairarapa train should stop to put down or take up .passengers on the other side of the tipper Huft. The whole of the service of the Hutt Valley should be dealt with by suburban trains. Until some arrangement of this sort is made, the life of the Minister should be made miserable by resolution, and deputations and worry. The apologies for cars which do service on the Wairarapa line are had enough. The apology for a time-table .is infinitely worse.
