MOTOR COLLISION.

HASTINGS, Last Night. A serious motor aeident occurred last night. Norman Wellwood's ear, driven hy the owner, and carrying his friends, J. Holden, junr., and George Stevenson, was returning from the Napier Park races, when t'iiey crashed into' the Havke's Bay' "Tribune car, proceeding from Hastings to Fernhill.
The Tribune car was driven by "Whit-lock, junr., and with him were A. E. O'Meara and W. Cook, dentists of Hastings. The drivers of both cars and Holden wei-(6 unhurt, but O'Meara has a compound fracture of the left leg. Cooke has a severely lacerated leg and an injured kneecap. Both were taken to the hospital, and will probably remain there for two months. Stevenson suffered a slight concussion-, but was able to proceed home. Both cars were badly smashed.
This is but one of a series of car accidents recently. Tuvo cars collided on the bridge at Pakipaki on Tuesday night-, one owned by Franklin aaid the other driven 'by Martin Rophia. Both drivers were cut about, but were not seriously injured. Three cars were coming from the races last night, and were crossing the Pakowhai bridge when the leading car stopped, and the other two colided with it. No one was .hurt, but the cars were damaged.
