Constable Dunphy returned to Masterton yesterday, after a most .enjoyable, trip to Sydney. The death has .occurred at Auckland of Mr EC. Gold-Smith, who three months ago retired from the post of Commissioner of Crown Lands m Auckland. The Rev. A. Moßean has been appointed to the charge of the Methodist Church at Eketabmia, and the Rev. J. J. Pendray to Pahiatua. Mr J. D..Heagerty will probably.be a candidate for the Mayoralty of Grey- ' town-this year.
