THE GERMAN STRIKERS
£308,000 STRIKE FUNDS. j RIOTS AT ESSEN. (Received Last Night, 11.40 o'clock.) BERLIN, March 12. Thirty-five per cent, of German miners have struck. iWomen and children at Essen assembled at the pit heads and prevented many miners from ing. The strike funds amount to £300,000, which is sufficient for a fortnight's strike pay. A collission between police and 400 strikers occurred at Essen, and seven 'strikers were seriously sabred, and many arrests were made. One of the non-strikers was attacked, and lost both eyes.
