WONDERFUL. iviilX)RD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports SieJd on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, "the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 6 ditberen/t make® the Triumphs secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a, possible eleven events. This performance i» all the more remarkable, when it i& considered tfliat the Triumphs had to concede liarge handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday. December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make | an attempt on the existing figures of I the Wellington to Napier record—viz., Bhrs 35mi«., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years.. Mr BratihwaAte left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. 00. New Year's DaJ 1 , antt arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10-57 a.m., his time being 6hrs. 38min., Toweaing the previous record by neatly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from tihe finest material procurable that oan average 33J miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zealand roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish ooulcL. not help ibut remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph' is mot only made focr speed. It has proved itself to he the machine for_ ihard work and long wear, and ais perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
