PONGAROA HORTICULTURAL SHOW

j The Pongaroa Horticultural and Industrial Show was held hi the Town Hall on Thursday, 7th March. The entries in all classes were mimerou;and of a higher quality than formerly. The number of entries and the steady progress of the show may .be judged by a perusal of the entries money taken ax the last three shows: —l9lO, €8 9s (id; 1911, £l4 10s 6cl; 19,12, CIG 16s 6d. S<;ine exceptionally fine fancy work •was shown, Miss V. Harvey taking pride of placo in this section, winning the coveted "collection" prize. The school children's exhibits were excellent, and reflect great credit on the exhibitors. The plastiecne, drawing, and writing exhibits were particularly large. The home industries, farm produce and vegetables sections brought forth ■much healthy competition, and proved the value of the show as a progress institution. The secretary Qlr W. T.
