THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL &3UORD OP SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle dub's sports Iheld on the Hastings > Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 ■ different makes, the Triumph's secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds ov*-- " f ° ™RRi'hl* eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered I tihat the Triumphs had to concede / large handicaps to machines of equal I power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt om the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier recordviz., Bhrs 35mira., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three vears. Mr Bratdiwiaite left the Welv. i t»__i. na:„„ o+ A <>n a m ran New Year's Day, and arrived at tlae Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., has time being 6brs. 38min.., Towering the previous record by nearly ..two hourß. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33* miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zeallland roads. # Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish couTd not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted, to New Zealand roads. We can deliver both fixed and free engine models from stock, and would be pleased to give trial runs to intending purchasers, at affl times.
