HOMING PIGEON CLUB
The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club hold a young bird race yesterday, the birds being '-unhampered «it Dnnnevirko, an- airline distance of 57 miles. The time wias not fast owing to the presence of a.'strong north-west wind, which carried the birds considerably out °f their course. The result was as follows:—W. Drake's _ "The- Lark," velocity, 915 yds per min., 1; A. Miller's "Splints," 909 yds, 2; -S. Hoar's "Scottish Star," 900 yds, 3.
