The Mackay Daily Mercury (Queensland), of February 22nd, hostile following item :—The-many friends of Mr W. Moersch, of Dow'* Creek, will learn with regret that his son,. Frederick, died suddenly at 7 o'clock on Tuesday evening. Deceased was only 2o yeans of age, and his death at such an early stage in his career is greatly deplored. He was a keen sport, and captain of the Garget Cricket Club." Scrimgeour took place in Mastenton yesterday afternoon, when a very long cortege of people from various parts of the Wmrarapa and Hawke's Bay were present to pay their last respects to one who was widely known and respected . The memibers of the Mastcrtotr. Lodge, 1.0.0.F.M.U., followed the procession to the cemetery in respect to their late .brother, who for a great many years was a prominent member of the Waipawa Lodge. The service at the graveslcle was conducted by the liev. A. T. Thompson., 8.A., B.l)., of Knox Church, Masterton.
