WELLINGTON WOOL SALES.

WELLINGTON, Last Night. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— The concluding sales of the season in Wellington took place to-day, when about 3000 bales were offered, our catalogue being about- 700 bales. There was a good attendance of buyers and excellent, competition. In many cases -id to Ad per lb advance 011 Februayr passed in woolis was obtained, hut in some instances a lower price had to he accepted. '.l'llere is no doubt that tho coal strike at Home had the effect of lowering buyers limits. A special feature of it he sale was the eager competition for lambs' wool, buyers 011 French account being very active. The offering comprised a fairly targe portion c»f passed in loibs from last sale, and as already stated above many of these were sold to-day at an advance. Tho offerings as a whole were of poor quality, but we are pleased to report that a good clearance w.as made at satisfactory prices. The following are some of the sales made by us of interest to your district: —G. H. Gillard, 7£d; Alex. Stevenson, Tfd; W. H. and J. M. Waterman, 7|d; Gooding Bros., &Jd and 7d; Thos. Sone, 7d; S. J. Wca'tiherley, 7jd; W. J. Martin, 7d; Jas. Fuleher, 7d; Jc'bn Harrison, J. S. Langdon, S)d ; West Bros., 6Jd; Wnn. Xcwcoinbe, (jjfd; C. P. Sorenson, ".Id.

The Wairarapa Farmers Co-opei'a-tivo Association, Ltd.. Wellington, report as follows: —The fifth sale of the season was held to-day in the Town Hall. There was «, large attendance of buyers and bidding was brisk. Compared withithe previous sale 011 the 13th February, rough and seedy crossbred sold in some cases at a slight advance. Lambs wool sold at same prices as previous sale, but superior lines of cro sabred were weaker by id to |d per lb. Pieces, bellies and locks sold at same prices as last sale. We quote as follows: —Fino crossbred, BJd to lOd; medium crossbred, 7d to 9d; dingy, inferior crossbred, 6id to 7id; heavy conditioned and seedy crossbred, 6&d to 7id ; lambs, superior 8-Jd to 9Jd, medium 7d to 83d; bellies and pieces, 5d to 7d ; locks, 2jd to 3|d.
