THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. /WONDERFUL. ULCORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports (held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes the Triumph's secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance ia all the more remarkable when it ia considered tihat the Triumphs had to concede targe handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines. were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr Jk L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on- the existing figures of the Wellington, to. Napier recordviz., Bhrs 35mi<n., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on. a, Triumph. In spite of several atrtempts on other make a of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three vears Mr Brathwaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., has time being 6hrs. 38min., Towertrtg tne previous record by nearly two, hour®. The Triumph ran perfectly from etart to finish, the only 'two stops being to take in petrol and oil.
