BANK ROBBERS
SURPRISED BY POLICE.
ONE BANDIT KILLED

MONTREAL, March t. . A .gang of robbers tried to loot the 'branch of the Royal Bank at Montreal West. ■' **'" ■' '" The police discovered them,, and revolver fire was exchanged. Later, one robber fell dead on the floor near a dynamited safe, and the others ran. A brisk pursuit followed, but the men escaped. In the clothes of the- dead bandit was found a girl's photograph and a wedding ring, indicating that the robber was about to marry.
