BRITISH CLAIM ABANDONED

LONDON, March 1. Mr F. i). Aeland, Under-Secretary I'or foreign Affairs, speaking in the Hon so of Commons, said Britain had abandoned lior claim to Palmyra LsJand, claimed by the United States, and had no further interest in it. The island had onto 'been sold for a dollar.
