THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL. UNCORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. I At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, *he Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entTv of 12 machines representing 5 different makes the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it i© considered fJhat the Triumphs had to concede Harge handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt oni the existing figures of the Wellington, to Napier record—viz. Bhrs 35min., established by Mr TT T, HnTioflfFiii. nr> Kaxv Vaar'i Tinrr 1909, also on a. Triumph. In. spite of several attempts on other maJkes of machines, this -record has l Btood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Erath waite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and. arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6tors. 38min., lowering the previousi record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It iff only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can. average 33£ miles an. hour over 230 miles of New Zeaflland roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish cou!<l not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is mot only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads. We can deliver both fixed ani free engine models from stock, and would be pleased to give trial runs to intending purchasers at aM times. TOURIST MOTOR CO., LTD., Sole Agents for Triumph and B.S.A.
