ENGLISH CRICKETERS
LEAVE SYDNEY DOUGLAS ON THE AUSTRALIANS DR-. HORDEJLN AS A BOWLER. BEST GOOGOE OF TOE DAY. (Received March 4, 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 4.
The English cricketers have left here to catch fjje steamer for London at Adelaide.
J. W. H. T. Douglas, the captain, attributed the success of tho team to the men pulling together. The bowling gave them the winning advantage. Their batting did not reach English expectations. Tho Australian batting outlook was promising, but tho bowling was less so-. There was hardly any flighty bowling, and very little good length bowling. Dr. Hordern was easily the best googliic bowler of the day. Tho Australian fielding was far beilow the customary standrad.
