CASEIN MANUFACTURE

The Bunnythorpe Dairy Co. has decided to go straight on with the preparation of curd for the manufacture of casein (says the Feilding Star.) Vat-s are to be placed at the factory and creameries, and in these the skin, milk will be placed and the process of separation set in motion. Ths curd will then be sent to a central factory where it will be converted into casein. Several other co-operative companies are joining in the proposal. To a meeting of the suppliers at Bunnythorpe, Mr Robertson, Chairman of Directors explained that the price offered for the casein was £l'> per ton. This was equal to an additional lid P<?i' lb on the price paid for butter-fat, and the suppliers could haw the use of the whey for. feeding pigs and calves. Mr Robertson strongly recommended the acceptance of the proposal, and the suppliers responded accordingly.
