THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. —.—*■ ■ WONDERFUL. IllwdßD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports (held on the Hastings _ Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different .makes' the Triumphs secured ten> firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of,a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it i& considered tihat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equaJ power and «ix of the ten first machines' were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Na.pier reoordviz., Bhrs 35miu., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on ft Triumph. In, spite of several attempts on other malces of machines, this record has l stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Bnathwaite left the Wellington. Post Office at 4.20 a.m. oil New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., 'hiß time being 6hrs. 38min.., Tower*im.g the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take am petrol and oil. It is l only "perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33£ miles an hour over 830 miles of New Zealand roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish couTd not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is mot only made for speed. It lias proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
