SWIMMING
RACE IN THE PARK LAKE. The Wairarapa Amateur Swimming Club held a 220 yards race in the Park* Lake last .evening, when six competitors feeed the starter. The finish was very exciting, as only two yards separated the first four men'. 3 The result was as follow •: A. Miller 25 sec, 1; T. 0. Higginson sct.£ 2; R. Person 20secs., 3; C. Jarrett, 50 sees., 4; J. Winchester 20secs.', and G. Forman 25sec), also started. The leading men in the points prize now are:— A. Miller 14, G. Forman 10, T. C. Higginson 8, ItPerson 7, J. Winchester 6, F. Jones 6. F. Richards 6. It is the intention of the_ Olu'b to hold two or three more evening races before the close of the season.
