Mr C Marter, sub-editor of the Sydney Daily Teh-graph, is at present v'n a visit to Wanganui, where his parents reside. Mr It. McKen/ie, of .Masterton, put up a remarkable performance, at the iWoodvßfe sports yesterday, winning aio fewer than five events. Mr and Mrs Con. Vallauce, of Waiiroa arrive in Masterton tins morning, liaving travelled from Napier pel motor. Miss Annie O'Leary, of Masterton, who competed -with suoh success at the swimming championship meeting recently held in Christchurch. returned :to Masterton on Wednesday afternoon. Mr W. McLaren, formerly of Bush Gnlley, but now of Masterton, intends 'leaving shortly on a visit to the Ukl Country. Mrs M. Tallentire, mother of Mrs J. B. E. Sutherland, of Masterton, died on Tuesday, night at Queenstown, South Island, at an advanced age. . At a late hour last night the condition of Mr A. C. Scrimgeour, of Masterton, was regarded as exceedingly critical. Mr E. R. B. Daniel is leaving Masterton for Hastings to-morrow. The Prime Minister has received a -Tcablegra'm from London, stating that Mr T. M. Wilford's health is mi~ |woving.
