THE MISSING HIMITANGI
SHIP-MASTERS' OPINIONS. (By Telegraph—Tress Association.) /' CHRJSTOHUROH, Last Night. Regarding the overdue Himitangi, ■shipmasteis, who have been in the Chatham Islands trade, recall quite a number of long round trips made by various 'steamers. The Toroa was once away for a whole month, and the Kahu, also owned by Messrs Richardson and Co., of Napier, made a longer stay ■at the Chathams, bad weather keeping her away from Lyttelton for over a month. Both vessels came through (severe storms without accident. The Ripple was once twenty days away. The Himitangi is regarded as a fine sea boat, well equipped, and in the charge of competent officers. Mr H. O. Foster (son of Mr W. G. Foster), of Wellington, who left Lyttelton in the Himitangi, is an officer in itlie service of the P. and 0. Company, on leave of absence, and is 'making the round trip in that vessel. Mr JoTiii McLean, of Wellington, who also went away in the Himitangi, was born in Wellington, and has made quite a number of trips to the Chathams, the first one being in the Duco. (
