THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. ■ < WONDERFUL OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle dub's sports fheld on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different make& the Triumphs' secured ten, firsts, seven booonds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. ! " This performance is all the ituore remarkaole when it is considered tlhat the Triumphs had to concede Targe handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt om the existing figures ol the Wellington to Napier record—viz., Bhrs 35min., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffor on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In. spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record ha® stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Brathw&ite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. oil New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., liis time being 6hrs. 38min., Tow«rtmg the previous record by nearly 'two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the oaily two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is> only perfect machines made from t;he finest material procurable that can average 33J miles an hour over 5530 miles of New Zea-liand roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish couTd not help but remark on the. perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph 1 is mot only made for speed. It lias proved itself to be the machine for (hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
