CARTERTON. Yesterday, at Carterton, a cat caught and killed a homer pigeon. Quo of tho birds' legs bore the ring No. 198, N.Z., 1911-12. Messrs Stevens Bros., of Belvedere, have secured 54-} bushels, of wheat to the acre, and two tons of straw.
An appropriation of £3OO by sale in connection with the Wairarapa Terminating Building Society takes place on Thursday. On Saturday, the axle of a brake belonging to the W.F.O.A. broke out at Belvedere, but fortunately the accident, beyond this, did not create any further damage.
Sergeant F. Morgan' and Mr C. Robertson have been appointed Lieutenants in tho Carterton Rifle Territorials.
Mr G. Ritchie, son of Mrs Ritchie, of Carterton, was on Saturday admitted to the Taihape Hospital, suffering from acute appendicitis. Mr Ritchie only went to Taihape a couple of months ago.
