THE VICTORIOUS TRiUM^H. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports Iheld on the Hastings _ Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the boardOut of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes' the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and, 4 thirds ouit of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered i3ljafc the Triumphs had to concede (arge handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington "on his Triumph motor, cycle to make an attempt o» the existing figures of the Wellington, to. Napier recordviz.. Bhrs 35min., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on ft Triumph. In. spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Bra-tilwaite left the Wellington Posrb Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., has time being 6hrs. 38min.., Towering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take iai petTol and oil.
