CONFERENCE AT CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph—Fress Association.) CHMSTCHURCH, Last Nigh*. The conference of the New Zealand Locomotive Engine-drivers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association was concluded yesterday; The principal decision' arrived at was to approach the Government with a request that the New Zealand locomotive workers receive the same pay as those in Australia, and if the Government does not recognise the claims, to appeal to Parliament and the public. At" a social gathering of delegates last night, a presentation was made to G/ Brown, ex-President, and W. MeArley, General Secretary.
