CLEARING SALE AT KAHAUTARA
Messrs Balgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a most successful clearing sale at Kahautara on Friday last, on account of Mr E. J. Knight. It was generally anticipated that all the live and dead stock to be offered would be in excellent order, and i>uy[ers av'lio attended the sale were not disappointed in this respect. The attendance at the sale was good, "and bidding all through was spirited. The three lines of breeding ewes offered came under the hammer in splendid order, and keen, competition took place for each lot. Prices realised were as follow— Two-tooth ew. 15s Sd; 4-tooth ewes, • 16s Id; f.f.m ewes, 13s to I3s 6d; 3-shear Southdown rams, 4fgns ; f.m. ' Romney rams, lgn; 2*yr gteers, £5 :W« draught mare with foal at foot, £4O; draught mare, 6 years, £33- . j v .' draught gelding, £27 10s. A'quantity, of implements and household fuiniture were also offered, and r; ood prices for these were obtained throughout.
