THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle dub's sports (held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes* the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, ondi 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it i» considered tihat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for "Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle t«o make an attempt om the existing figures of the Wellington, to Napier record—viz.. Ships 35min., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mir Brathwiaite left the Wei-, iington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. oil New Year's Day, and' arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being Ghrs. 38min., ToweAig the i previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran peitfeotly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is l only perfect machines made from the finest material i procurable that can- average 33£ miles an hour over 230 mite® of New Zealand roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish could not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph l is mot only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for (hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted; to New Zealand roads.
