LADIES' SWIMMING CLUB

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. - A committee meeting of the. Master ten Ladies' Swimming xClub was held yesterday afternoon, in the Dominion Hall. Mrs P. R. Cook presided, and the meeting was of a most enthusiastic nature. Final arrangement's were made iii. connection, ■with the Club's forthcoming Carnival, to be held on 29th February. It was decided to close the date for receiving entries on Monday, ,26th February. A vote of thanks was passed ■to the following ladies who have donated handsome and valuable trophie's for competition at the Carnival Mesdames •W. H. Hosking, A. F. Maunsell, H. Beetham, J. M. Goradine, J. Perry, J. B. Henry, D. M. Graham, J. W. Blackmail, A. Bunny, M. CnseJberg, J. Caselberg, Donaid Donald, Waaxlell, A. Caselberg, P. R. Oook, E. G. Eton, N. Beetham, Logan, N. James, C. F. Yallance, G. Cooper and Dr Helen Cowie. Trophies as second prizes were donated by Mrs Payton, Mrs Noble-Campbell, Mrs G. R. Svkes, Mrs W. H. Jackson, Mrs W.* H. Cruickshank, Mrs G. Sellar, Mirs C. Perry and Misis Macara.

It was decided to have two tiers of seats erected, at previous carnivals the seating; accommodation was altogether inadequate, and to apply for tenders to,have the. work done as soon ais oossible.

iSpecial reference was made to the splendid performance of Miss O'Leairy at the Christchurcli Championship meeting, and members of the Club were highly elated that one of their number takes such a prominent pai*t amongst the best ladv swimmers of the Dominion. Tt was decided to call for tenders from caterers for the supply of afternoon tea on the clay of the Carnival.

It was also decided to engage an orchestra to be in attendance during the afternoon.

Altogether, the enthusiasm displayed at the meeting augurs well for the success of the Club's Carnival.
