WAIRARAPA EGG CIRCLE
SECOND ANNUA!. MEETING. The second annual meeting of the Wairarapa Egg Circle was held last evening,, in Murray's Hall, there being present,— H. H. Armstrong (chairman), 11. 0. Jarrett, J. Sillars, W. H. Baillie, J. iW. Jesson, R. Person, Taplin, J. Walker, and the secretary. The following Committee for the ensuing year was appointed: — Messrs H. H. Armstrong, W. H. Baillie (Carterton), W. H. Jackson, J. Sillars, and J. McKenzie; Auditor, Mr R. 0 f Jarrett; Secretary, Mr H. M. Boddington. Mr Armstrong, in referring to the work of the past year, complimented the Circle on the prosperous season experienced, and specially emphasised the necessity of marketing and stamping clean eggs, as that was the only way in which the Circle's good name could he maintained. , air- J. Pryor, in moving the adoption of the balance sheet, complimented the Circle on the successful showing it had made during the past year, and-thought-the Circle was to he congratulated on the reasonable charges at which their eggs had been marketed. On the motion of Mr H. W. Jackson, seconded by Mr Pryor, it was decided to have the Circle registered 1111der "The Incorporated Societies Act," as it was the general opinion of members that such a course would, he for the benefit of the Circle. Mr Pryor moved, and Mr Walker that the Secretary be instructed to apply to the Minister for Railways for a reduction in the freight on the' Circle's eggs.— Carried. Mr B. 0. Jarrett thanked the Chairman and Secretary for their unremitting efforts during the past, year to make the working of the Circle a success. He also thanked the Press for publishing Circle news, which he considered greatly assisted in advertising the Circle, and bringing it to its present position in the Wairarapa. Mr J. W. Jesson, the Circle's agent, was complimented upon the splendid manner in which he _ had conducted the business of the Circle, and the chairman considered that Mr Jesson's marketing, of the eggs went a long way towards making the Circle a success. . A motion to restrict the Circle's operations to its present boundaries was lost, and it was decided to leave the matter in the..Committee's hands, -with -Power to act.
