IIAUTOTAIIA SHEEP SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having conducted .a dispersal sale of the sheep at Hautotara station on Tuesday, in conjunction witlh Messrs (Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd. The 'attendance was a very large and representative one, ibuyers from ■many outside districts being present, particularly from the West Coast. It was undoubtedly a record sale for the Wairarapa, thirty odd thousand sheep ( being submitted on behalf of one ven- ' dor. all of which were carefully drafted and yarded in such a manner that the buyers had no difficulty in picking out the various lines, and seeing exactly whub was offered them. The arrangements throughout were capital, and many complimentary remarks were made to Mr William Harris, who certainly deserves credit for the re- j suit of liis work. Tho sheep were well- j groAvn, and on the whole we-ro in splendid condition., and although buyers j were cautious at tho opening of the sale, they livened up afterwards and ' business at auction was animated. The prices all round were good, with possibly the exception of the lambs, ' which showed signs of having lost their bloom owing to knocking about received in mustering, drafting, etc. : A line of prime heavy fab wethers sold at lis lid, and were purchased !.y a Lower Valley settler, who intends retaining them for tiho nigh prices "offerin" in tiho winter.
