MR MASSEY'S POSITION.

What will be Mr Massey's- position when he is called upon to fonn a Ministry? He will have thirty-nine followers, and probably forty, to say nothing of the Labour members, who will not risk going to the country for a year or two. He may thus depend upon a reasonable working majority. the Laibonr members should join ■with the Government in obstruction tactics, there will be no option but to make another appeal to the country. In' the meantime Mr Massey will form his Ministry and take over the administration of the affairs of the country. How will the Ministry be constituted? Mr Massey will himself be Prime Minister and Minister of Lands. Mr Allen will be Dominion Treasurer ; Mr Herries will be Native Minister; Mr Herdman will probably be Postmaster-General and Minister for Customs; Mr J. M. Thompson may be Minister for Education; Mr Fisher, Minister for Labour; Mr F." W. Lang, Minister for Agriculture; Mr .5. B. Hine, Mini ter for Public Works; Mr Rhodes, Minister for Defence; and Dr Pomare a representative of the Native race, without portfolio. After the formation of the Ministry, t'he abuse will adjourn until .Tune, when the Massey Government will bring down its policy and proceed (forthwith to legislate for the welfare of the couutry as a whole.
