PRESBYTERY OF WAIRARAPA

MEETING IN MASTERTON. 'The Wairarapa Presbytery met in Knox Hall, Master ton, at 12.30 p.m., for its ordinary bi-month-lyj meeting. The Rev. G. K. Stowell (Moderator) was in the chair, and others present were the Revs. L. Thompson, J. C. Mill, E. C. Tennerit, A. T, Thompson, and Messrs G. F&lla, M. Ross, M v M?fir e R. Wilton, H. T. Wood and .17. Flnlayson (Elders), with. Messrs G. H. Ralph and J. Rattray (Home Missionaries). The Rev. J. Young : was associated with the Presbytery. Elders' commissions were received from Martinborough, Carterton, and Pahiatua. It was decided that the Moderator hoTd office_for one year. a memorial minute'was inserted in the records of the Presbytery in reference to the late Rev. The Rev. L. Thompson, of Carterton, was appointed Presbytery Treasurer.

The application of Mr T. McM aster to be received as a Home Missionary was received and sustained, and transmitted to the convener,fcf the Church Extension Committee, with a strong recommendation that he be appointed. The Presbytery decided to have published an illustrated supplement of the "Outlook," with articles and photographs connected with the work of the, .church-kin the Wairarapa. One thousand copies are being put on order.'. ,

A-. petition from Lansdowne and the outfields was presented to the'. Presbytery, requesting that a new. congregation embracing the districts of Lansdowne,' Wangaehu, Bideford, TvlaurTceville,. Kopuaranga and Miki Miki, be formed, and that, steps be taken to secure the services of a fully oruafiiec! Minister for the new charge, After going into Committee to consider the petition, which was presented by the Rev." A. T. Thompson and Messrs G. Falla and P. L. Hollings, the Presbytery resolved to grarS the prayer of the petitioners, and to form the new charge, to be known as that of Lansdowne. The Rev. A. T. Thompson was appointed Moderator of the new charge. A Youth of the Church Committee of the Presbytery was formed, consisting of the Revs. 15. C. Tennent, MiTT, Stowell, and Messrs G. Falla and M. Ross. The question of erecting Pongaroa into a fully sanctioned charge was discussed, but the matter was referred to tlio Home Mission Committee of the Presbytery.
