THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH.
WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUC-! CESSES ON TRIUMPH MOT-! OR CYCLES. I At the R.B; Motor Cycle Club's sports held on the Has/tings _ Race- { course on Uoxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines rep- , /_ resenting 5 different, makes, the Tri- ' limpid secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible i eleven events-. This performance is all the _ more ! remarkable when' it is considered 1 iJhat the Triumphs had to concede ; large handicaps to machines of equal ; power and six of tlie ten first mach- i ines were ridden by amateur riders. I On Saturday, December 30t<h, Mr j J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington i on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt oan the existing -figures of the Wellington to Napier recordviz.. Bhrs. Soman., established by Mr H L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on ft Triumph. In spite or several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has 1 stood to > the credit of the Triumph for three 4? years. Mr Erath waite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., naa time being 6brs. 38min., Towertmg the previous record by nearly .two hours. The Triumph" ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It iff only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33£ miles an. hour over 230 miles of New Zealand roads. < Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish could not hete but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the y machine for hard work and long * wear, and is perfectly adapted, to New Zealand roads.
