THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry" of 12 machines representing 5 different makes the Triumph's secured ten firsts, 6even seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is confiiaered tihat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and e ; x~of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur, riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braitbwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an ajttem.pt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier recordviz., Bhrs Bomjn., established by Mr H L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a. Triumph. In, spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has 1 6tood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Brattbwaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at -the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 61sr«. 38min., towering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33$ miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zeailand roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish could not help but. remark on tiie perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph, is not only made for speed. Tt ha-s proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to Now Zealand roads.
