THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes, the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4"thirds ourb of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is con>sißered tihatthe Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of 'the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December3oth, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make mi attempt oni the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier record—viz. Bhrs 35min., established b\ Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1809, also on a Triumph. In, spite of several attempts on other makes or machines, this record ha® stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mir Btrathwiaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, ami arrived at the Napier.Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6brs. 38min.. Toweling the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take m petrol and oil. It i<s only perfect machines made Prom the finest materia] procurable that oan average 33$ miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zeailland roads. _ Thos*e who were at the Napier Post Office at the ■ finish could not but remark. nil the perfect condition of the 'machine, at the naish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New /inland roads.
