[From Our Own Correspondent.] LOWER TAUERU. Hanesting operations hav-e now been oomipleted.' The crops generally have averaged almost double last year's 'harvest. Mr Jas. Loader has just harvested a crop that has been the envy of every person passing. .From Kcune fifteen acres Mr Loader has .stacked 25 tons af splendid oaten sheaves. The chaff will he eagerly sought after, being clean and heavy. The dry weather is playing havoc on the land, feed .being ' scarce, to say nothirg about water. Unless rain comes shortly, things will become serious. Wells, which have fliever before heen dry, now give out {lifter a couple of buckets of water have been drawn from them. In fact the drought is becoming so serious that neighbours are exchanging a bucket ,of water for a pint of skimmed milk.

The roads arc frightfully dusty—mobs erf .sheep and cattle and motor cars being the order of the day. Between .here and the Junction the dust is unbearable. This is due to the poor metal the County Council is putting on the roads. An interesting wedding is to take place on Wednesday next, the contracting parties being the popular; couple, Mr CTias. Loader and Miss Ivy .Jdmniieson. The wedding takes place at the village .church, and the reception at the Taueru Hall during the afternoon.
