THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUI, RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on tfhe Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, iihetriumphs again practically swept the hoard. Out of an entry of' 12; machines rep_resenting 5 different/:make& 4ihe Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds;' ouib of a possible eleven events. This performance is- all the more remarkable when it is con&iflered ■tfhat the Triumphs bad to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of'the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt om the existing figures of I the Wellington to Napier record—j viz., Shirs 35men., establrsibed by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on. a, Triumph. In 6pite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mpr Brathwiaite left the Wellington Pos* Ofiice a"t 4.20 a.m. on New Year's l Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., Mb time being Stors. 38mih., Towering the previous record (by nearly two hours*. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take m petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33$ miles an hour over 230 mile* of New Zealand roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Ofiice at the finish couTcl not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. Tt has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads'.
