MONTHLY MEETING. The. monthly meeting of the Masterton Racing Club was held in the Secretary's office on Saturday afternoon last, there being present;—! Messrs. C F. Bennett. I . . Twelve* applications were received ' for the position of caretaker at Opaki,'which number was.reduced to , four at the last meeting. It was de- ! cided to accept the application o? J. MeOonkey, of Waipaw'a. ] It was deoided to build a new tot- J afisator house and to on/tain a new 24 h.p. silent totalisator. ft Mas also decided to purchase from Mr G. Hutchinson, of Christ-. , church, a new set of. weighing scales. The programme comimittee forward- . . ed their report, and recommended a two days' meeting, with eight races each day ,and to allocate £l2lO in stakes for the two days. The programme was approved, and ordered to be forwarded to the Wellington Racing Club for its final approval. It was decided to build a new dining room' in connection with the caretaker's residence, for the use of trainers and jockeys. • J. Phillips was recommended for a trainer's license. The Treasurer's reoort showed a credit balance of £603.
