PRICES FOR CROSSBREDS MAINTAINED.

At the wool sales, a large selection was offered. Prices for best (Masses were fully maintained for all crossbrcds. The shabbier merinos were in ■buyers' favour, being genei'-ally aibout live per cent lower.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows-We offered a heavy yarding of sheep and cattle, which sold well at late nates. Fine heavy bullocks made £9 17s 6d to £lO ss, ,£;) to £9 ss; vealers 32s to 88s • mivl ium wethers, 15s 6d; plain, 14s 6d; prime heavy owes, lis '2d to 14s 4d; medium ewes, 13s 2d to 13s 4d; light, lis 2d to 12s; prime lamb, 12s lid to 13s 2d; medium lamb, 12s 2d to 12s 6d; plain, 9s 6d to 10s 2d. WAIPOUA STOCK BALE.
Messrs James Macintosh and Co. report having held their second sale in. the Waipoua yards, Mastorton,, yesterday, when they hiad a very good yarding, well above advertised numbers, wihidh consisted principally .of lambs, which did not meet with the best of competition, but'■despite that most of the entry was sold. . There wore several pens of fat ewes and •wethers, and also of store ewes, ! which met with a ready-sale. Tlie cattle yarding was not «s large as last week, but good competition resulted in practically ia total clearance. Quotations: —; Sheep : Fat ewes, lis, 12s Od to 12s 7d ; fat wethers, to 15s; forward stare owes, 8s 2d to 8s 9d; store ewes, 7s Id j to 7s sd; shorn rapo lambs, 7s 2d; la.inhsj fit for stubble, os 4d, 5s Bd, (>.s 2d to 7s; culls, 2s Sd, 3s Id, 4s 3d to 4s 10d; 2-tooth ewes, to 13s 6d; f..m. owes and 'lambs, all counted, ss. Cattle: 18-months heifers, in calf, £4; fat cows, £5 10s Gd; forward cows, £3 10s to £4 ss; well grown colves, 30s Sd.

SoWy sale yesterday as iolloiVvA :-—A fair yarding of siheep came forward, the bulk of tlie'entry comprising woolly lambs, which were of-, fered to a good attendance of buyers. Quotations: —Small lambs, 4s 7d to 6s; eull ewes, 3s 6d to 7s 6d; medium lambs, 6s 7d ,to 8s ; rape lambs,'los 2d; fiat cows, £5 10s.
Messrs Abraham amd Williams, Ltd., report on their Solway sale heild yesterday as follows:—We had a good yarding of sheep, but no cattle, and have to report a good'general enquiry for all classes, with the possible exemption of (breeding ewes, for which buyers were not present. The attendance was very satisfactory, and business at auction ;was animated for good conditioned rape lambs, store larabs, and wethers, and young ewes; A line of .heavy-skinned fat ewes offered on behalf of iMr Joilui Strang, Gleoiside, made 13s. Quotations:—2-tootli wethers, good, but late shorn, 12s Id; 2■too+b. ©-wes. 12s; good conditioned rape lambs, • 10s; others, Bs9d to 9s; cull ftuijoa, 4s,to os xu , irat ewes, good, 13s.
