Motor Cycle Club's sports held on tJhe Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, tike Triumphs again ' practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 difrereiit makes the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 itMrds oust of a possible eilieven events. This • performance is all tlie more remarkable when it is con&iflered tihat tie Triumphs had to concede Large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines weire riddien by amateur riders. On Saturday j December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make am attempt ons figures of the Wellington''to* Napier reward—viz., Shrs Somen., established fey Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In, spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record Jbas stood to the .credit of the Triumph for thiree years. Mir. Brafohwaite left the Wellington, Posit Office at 4.20 a.m. om New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his tiniebeing oh<rs. 38min., Towering the previous record 'by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfeotly from start to finish, tire only two stops being take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that oair average 33J miles an. hour over 230 miles of New Zeallland roads. Those who were' «/t the Napier Post Office at the finish ooulH, not fo'elp but remark on tihe perfect condition of the machine at fho finist. The Triumph is mot only made for speed. It lias proved itself to be the machine for Ihard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
